I think my iPod’s crashed – can I reset it? |

If you think that your iPod isn’t working as well as it should or it’s developed a basic error (like not mounting in iTunes, for example), then it can possibly be cured by simply resetting it. It’s nothing to worry about, but it’s worth remembering that your iPod is like any other computer and will, on occasions, crash or stutter. To reset an iPod Shuffle, disconnect it from your computer, move the switch on the back to the off position and wait five seconds before moving the switch to either the Play In Order or Shuffle position. For a Mini, nano or 4G/5G iPod, press down the Menu and Centre buttons for between 6-10 seconds – until the Apple logo appears onscreen. For older iPods, do the same, but press down the Play/Pause and Menu buttons instead of the Menu and Centre ones. |
