Apple price iPhone with future in mind

James Oakwood
0 comments  22 January 2007

It's alleged that Apple’s manufacturing costs for the iPhone could be around 50% of its retail price in the US, according to the electronics research company, iSuppli.

The press release on the iSuppli website breaks down each known component of the iPhone, giving a full cost assessment of the phone according to the current costs of the various parts.

The Guardian newspaper’s technology blog followed up on the story, indicating that the actual cost of the iPhone’s processor is unknown (simply because Apple have yet to announce the processor they’re going to be using), although the final cost of the chip shouldn’t have a dramatic effect on the profit margins.

If it's iPod-related and interesting, then we'll cover it
