If you want to create a playlist while you’re out and about, then all you have to do is select the file (which can be a song, album, artist, genre or even another playlist) and hold down the iPod’s Centre button until the selection’s title flashes. Then go to your iPod’s playlists and you’ll find one called ‘On-The-Go’. Save it and then you can rename it when you next connect your iPod to iTunes. |

Did you know that you can display lyrics on your iPod? Well you can, as long as you have either a 5G iPod or a nano. A quick search on Google should get you the lyrics you’re after and then, when you have them, open iTunes, select the song you want to add lyrics to, then press Apple + I (Mac) or Control + I (PC). Click the Lyrics tab, then paste in the lyrics copy. Simple. |

If you want to skip through a large chunk of a video or audio file, then press the Centre button and use the scroll wheel to skip through a large chunk. You can zip through video or audio files by pressing and holding down either left or right, which allows you to quickly reach exactly the part you want. |

Altering the iPod’s overall EQ setting is done by simply going to Settings > EQ, but if you want to change the EQ value of individual tracks then you’ll need to do that through iTunes – select the track (or tracks) you want to change, then press Apple + I (Mac) or Control + (I (PC) and go to Options. |

If you’ve put a video podcast on your iPod but can’t get it to play, then here are a couple of tips that might help. For starters, although you can access your video podcasts through the Podcast link on the main menu, they’ll only actually work if you go to Videos > Video Podcasts. Secondly, make sure that the TV Out setting in Video Settings is switched to ‘Off’. |

Syncing your photo library |

If you’ve synched your photo library with your iPod and want to store hi-res photos to share with friends or family, make sure that you tick the ‘Include full-resolution photos’ box on the Photos tab in iTunes’ iPod preferences. That way, a folder of high quality images can be stored in the Photos folder when you access the iPod in disc mode. |
