Is there anything I can do to prolong my iPod battery’s life?

Lithium-ion batteries are cheap to make and pretty lightweight, but they won’t last forever. If you find that you’re getting less charge from your battery than when it was new, then it’s likely that it’s slowly dying – but, to be fair, it’s a gradual process and the battery should still last you a number of years before you need to replace it. If you want your charge to last longer, then try these tips: Avoid using the backlight and turn the clicker off Songs with a lower bitrate (128kbps or less) use less power to play Avoid skipping songs or jumping through a track unless you can really help it Always turn off your iPod when you’re not using it When your iPod battery finally dies though, there’s still a light at the end of the tunnel. Check out other FAQs in this section for everything you need to help you get over this tragic loss.
