You’d be surprised at how many people still don’t set up their iPod as an extra hard drive for storing and transferring files. It offers more uses that just the ability to transport items between different computers though, as you can also drop text files into the Notes folder (which then appear in the Notes section of the iPod) and also store hi-res photos, too. To set your iPod up for hard disc use, connect it to your computer, start up iTunes and make sure that Enable disc use is activated – it’s on the iPod Summary page. It’s also worth remembering that a Mac-formatted iPod won’t show up on a PC, but a PC-formatted one will show up on a Mac desktop. |
