Apple gives away iPods

In an impressive show of unpublicised charity, Apple have given away over 100 iPods to students who lost homes in the October fires in the US.
Students were asked to go to a classroom for pizza and were surprised to find that they were also given a free iPod nano video, too.
One lucky recipient, Kari Afshari, said: “A lot of people were excited about it. It was nicer than the one I lost in the fire.”
The scheme came about because of the work of Steve Boyack, a resident of Poway (one of the areas affected by the fires).
“Having four boys, I thought what would be nice for the kids,” said Steve. “And I thought iPods are an accessory most kids like and can't live without.”
