With a warning to iPhone hackers that the update could permanently damage their iPhone, Apple offer a new system update with a host of new features.
As expected, at the top of the list of new features is the ability to now browse and purchase music from the iTunes Store – in the same way that you can on the iPod touch – but the update offers plenty more besides that.
Mail Emails with PDF or Word attachments can now have their contents viewed in landscape mode.
Keyboard You can now press the space button twice on your iPhone to insert a full stop and a space – instead of having to go to a separate screen.
TV Out As long as you have the correct lead, you can now watch videos or view photographs on your TV via your iPhone.
But these are just the highlights. For the full list of changes, along with comparative shots of the new software, go here.
Apple have released a video detailing the new changes to the iPhone software, and you can watch it online here.
