0 comments 08 August 2007
As part of Apple’s special press event, primarily for the launch of the new iMac computer, Steve Jobs also announced .Mac Web Gallery.
A subscription-based service for sharing photos and videos, it’s aimed at users of the iPhone and Apple’s iLife ’08 software. Shortly after Jobs’ announcement a new Photos application was added to the iPhones menu. Accessing this enables users to wirelessly add their photos to their web gallery.
Using the iPhone’s Safari browsers it’s also possible to view any Gallery video content that has been encoded using iMovie for iPhone viewing. A subscription of $100 per year has been announced for American users, though there’s no official word yet on the subscription price for UK users. The iLife ’08 Suite will also be required to make use of the .Mac Web Gallery.
