EMI Hails DRM-Free Music

Lauren Berkowitz, EMI’s senior vice president of digital, has declared the company’s sale of DRM-free music a success.
Berkowitz told the audience at a recent US music industry event that the decision to offer tracks free of digital rights management protection via services including iTunes has actually boosted sales of albums and individual song. She revealed that sales of Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ have leapt an incredible 350 percent since the adoption of a DRM-free format.
