Free Single Of The Week: Maps

Home recording continues to produce fantastic results, as this free single on the iTunes Store from a band called Maps was recorded in the artist’s bedroom.
Not to be confused with the classic cover by The Damned of the same name (and one of editor Dean’s all-time favourite songs), Elouise is a stunning track that mixes powerful electronica with more traditional instrumentation and well worth a download – after all, it won’t cost you anything.
The band’s main driving force is James, who recorded and produced Maps’ whole album from his house on a 16-track desk. When he plays live, he’s backed up by three bandmates, and from what we’ve heard, they’re well worth checking out.
