Money For Something
We like this rumour very much. Apparently, someone’s been tipped off that Sting and Dire Straits have been signed up by Apple to rerecord their 80s hit, Money For Nothing, changing the ‘I want my MTV’ lyric to ‘I want my Apple TV’. It’s probably utter nonsense, but we’d love to think that it wasn’t. To remind yourself of how good the Money For Nothing video was, go here.

iPod sales better than expected
Apple’s second financial quarter might not end until the end of March, but analysts are already predicting that Apple’s iPod sales will be above their initial predictions. Piper Jaffray analyst, Gene Munster, claims that he feels confident that Apple will have sold between 11 and 12 million iPods from January 2007 until the end of March.

iTunes opens up to indie films
The iTunes Store in America began selling films from independent filmmakers last Tuesday, starting with ‘That’, a snowboarding action film. The 30-minute long film was originally released on DVD in September 2006 and now sells on the store for $1.99.

Ugly Rumours hit the UK top 20 charts
Originally the name of the college band featuring the current UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, it’s now the name of a satirical band that have released a cover version of the anti-war anthem, War (What Is It Good For?). Directly targeted at Blair himself and a statement against the war in Iraq, the fact that they’re the first unsigned band ever to make it into the official top 20 has given them a staggering amount of publicity for their cause.
