Despite everyone from Microsoft down to Creative failing to make a dent in Apple’s market share, Sony are rumoured to be trying again with a new Flash-based MP3 player.
The Engadget website is claiming that they’ve heard from ‘credible sources’ that Sony is planning another assault on the iPod’s dominance with a Flash-based MP3 player that will come in 2, 4 and 8GB flavours.
Based on its NW-A3000/NW-A1000 players, the rumoured device will take some design inspiration from Apple’s nano, but will boast up to 10 hours of video playback on a landscape screen bigger than the nano’s.
If the rumours are true, then Sony are apparently planning to release the player as early as March.
