iPhone could be free for 18 months

An American analyst is claiming that Cingular will be giving away contracts of up to 18 months with the iPhone, in an attempt to sweeten the large initial outlay.
As reported on AppleInsider, Jim Cramer, an analyst with CNBC, said on his blog: “In its call, the company made it very clear that it's going to use Apple's iPhone to get customers from by giving away its service for a year and a half to those customers who buy the phone."
In a poll on the AppleInsider site, they asked if offering 18 months of free service would increase the likelihood of you purchasing an iPhone and, at the time of writing, over 3,000 people had voted and over 75% said that it would make them more interested.
