Should I always update my iPod’s system software when I’m prompted to?

Apple recommend it, as it’s the best way to ensure that your iPod is running as smooth as it possibly can. And if your iPod is playing up, it might be worth checking that you’ve got the latest version of its system software. Load up iTunes, connect your iPod and, when the iPod’s Summary screen appears, it’ll tell you if the system software is up to date or if you need to download the latest version.
