At £3.99 a shot ($4.99 if you live in America) then you can certainly afford to experiment with a game or two. While it’s immediately obvious that the iPod’s scroll wheel doesn’t make the best control system for action-paced gaming (Pac-Man is a clear example of this, as it’s rather poor), those games that have used the wheel to its advantage really shine. Good examples of this are Vortex, Tetris, Zuma, Mini Golf and Cubis 2. There’s plenty of gameplay in all of them though, and simply playing through the various game modes in each one is sure to take you a while. Then, when you think that you’ve got a world-beating score, head to the Pod Almighty section of the site and see if your score is worthy of entering our top ten. |
