Podcasting goes hi-res on the iTunes Store

A newspaper has recently launched a HD podcast and Apple encourage others by sending an email out to all those with video podcasting content on the Store.
With high definition content for Apple TV obviously in mind, the US newspaper, The Washington Post, has launched the first HD video podcast for the iTunes Store. Shot with high definition cameras and encoded in 720p, they are therefore perfect for streaming through to Apple TV
This is a move that is clearly top of Apple’s plans for free video content, as an email from them to current video podcasters illustrates. In it, Apple recommend that the resolution of their videos should be improved, and they’ve also updated their specification recommendations accordingly on their website.
To find out more about the recommendations, view the new specs here.
