If you’re skipping through your iTunes library and want to instantly find out what’s currently playing, then you can just click on the small circular arrow in the Status window (see screenshot). Then you’ll jump to the song that’s playing at the moment. |

A new feature for iTunes, if you click on the top of the Album column, then you can alter the way iTunes lists your library, as it will then switch between Album, Album by Artist or Album by Year. So if, for example, you want to listen to all your U2 albums one after another, you just click on the top of the Album column twice and iTunes will neatly list them for you. |

If you have a large selection of playlists, then it’s probably a good idea to start putting them in some sort of order. If you go to File > New Folder, one will appear in your Source list that you can then add any number of playlists to. So, for example, if you have a range of spoken word playlists, then you can now easily group them all together in one place. |

If you want to build up a playlist of the songs you want to buy from the iTunes Store, then you can by just dragging and dropping the 30-second sample to a playlist in the Source list. Then you can listen to it again and again without having to keep going back to the iTunes Store. |

One neat little touch for the iTunes Store is the ability to get a direct URL link to an album or podcast that you can then email to a friend. Just hover your mouse over any image or album art on the Store and then click the right mouse button (or press Control + click on a Mac). Highlight ‘Copy iTunes Store URL’ and then you can paste it into an open email. |

Fancy changing iTunes’ volume directly through your mouse? You can if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel. Hover the mouse pointer over the volume bar and then move the wheel up or down to change the volume.
