New patent for ‘Home on iPod’ revealed

According to another new patent application that's been released this week, Apple could be about to revamp their Home on iPod feature for future iPods.
Catchily titled ‘Method and apparatus rendering user accounts portable’, the patent refers to the ability to transfer directories and account information from computer to computer via an iPod.
This would mean that you’d be able to access any Mac, connect your iPod and then import your personal settings and contacts to continue working on any files with exactly the same set up.
The Home on iPod technology was originally announced by Apple back in 2003 and planned as part of the Panther operating system, but was removed before the software was released.
