Potential iPod software conflict revealed

The latest video-enabled iPods and nanos are reportedly affected by the latest version of Norton AntiVirus, according to a story posted on the MacFixIt.com website.
A message by a reader claims that the latest 30GB iPod or the 8GB nano are unable to sync or update themselves if Norton AntiVirus 10 is installed on their computers.
The message, posted by a MaxFixIt reader who simply calls themselves P.J., is as follows:
"Basically, if Norton Antivirus 10 (latest version) is installed, and if you have a 30GB slim latest model iPod, or a 8GB new iPod Nano, then when you attach the ipods to your Mac and iTunes starts, your iPods cannot sync nor update themselves. An error message comes up saying that the device is in use by another application. Also, you cannot eject the iPods from your system. Even quitting iTunes does not help.”
To remedy this, it’s suggested that you simply have to disable AutoProtect from within the AntiVirus software, but please let us know if this doesn’t solve the problem for you and we promise to investigate further.
