This is a common complaint if you have a 60Gb 5G iPod and stacks of space for videos, but not a huge amount of hard drive space left on your computer. The only solution (apart from buying an external hard drive) is to set up iTunes for manual updates. To do this, connect your iPod to your computer and open up iTunes. Then, on the iPod section of the program, work your way through the tabs, switching off any sections that you can manually update. If you’re trying to save memory, then the main ones have to be the Movies and TV Shows sections. If you change these both to manual updating – by unticking the Sync box at the top of the window – then you’ll be able to drag and drop videos straight into your iPod in the Source list. Finally, as you’re now not syncing your iPod to your computer, you can delete the video files from your computer’s hard drive. |
