Apple launch web app directory

While we wait for Apple to launch a range of Widgets for the iPhone and iPod touch, the company has updated its website with a directory of web-based applications.
The applications, although varied and useful, are obviously only websites, so that means that you’ll only ever be able to access them via a WiFi hotspot or the AT&T mobile Internet service.
That said, we have found a few gems in the list, including these highlights…
TextOnPhone Featuring a wide range of ebooks and other text files, iPod touch and iPhone users can access this impressive database totally for free.
The Pool A novelty, but a fun one nonetheless. The pool transforms your player’s screen into a virtual pond. You tap on the screen and ripples appear – and, if you’re lucky, you may even catch a fish…
Signal Transform your player into an iTunes remote control, allowing you to control your music from anywhere in the house.
